Support. Hope. Belonging.

Facing life alone as a parent is hard, and when you feel there is no one there to support you, it is a scary place to be. At Safe Families we offer support, hope and belonging to improve the lives of those in our communities. We connect parents and children with local volunteers who can offer them friendship and support.

Caring for Children starts with Caring for Parents

Safe Families provide sustainable solutions for families within their own communities by delivering relationship-based support through trained local volunteers. Safe Families facilitates parent-led goal setting in areas focusing on the Protective Factors like social networks, resilience, and parenting supports.

Our hope is for families to stay together and to live in supportive communities.

Safe Families coordinates local Parent Cafes, facilitated by a Parent Leader, where moms and dads can take a break with other NYC parents and talk about their challenges and victories in raising families. These cafes are open to any current or previous Safe Families parents. Watch this video of parents talking about Cafes. Email parentleadernyc@safefamilies.net for more information.

*Parents best explain how Safe Families helped strengthen their family. Watch these videos from NYC parents: Marilyn and grandson Harley, Imelda, Brandice, Rosa.
